The History of Port Royal
World-Class Island Golf For All
Our Story
Located in beautiful Southampton Parish, Port Royal Golf Course operates as a Bermuda Government Quango, a Government-owned and operated public golf facility. Along with its sister course, Ocean View in Hamilton, they have the honor of being the only two public golf courses in Bermuda.
Designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1970, this elite 18-hole championship course spans 6,842 manicured yards, the longest and most picturesque course in all of Bermuda. In 2008, Port Royal underwent a $14.5 million renovation, spearheaded by original design team member Roger Rulewich in preparation for the 2009/2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
Since 2019, Port Royal has been a stop on the PGA TOUR, and continues to host national and international golf events. Additionally, our course was ranked #28 in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central American Region from Golfweek/USA Today in 2024.
We invite you to experience the pristine greens, iconic ocean views, lively competition, and unmatched service that make Port Royal the number one course in Bermuda.
