The History of Ocean View
The Course for the Community
Our Story
Ocean View Golf Course is one of the two oldest continuous golf courses in Bermuda with records dating back to the 1890s. Over the years, we have had several operators, the earliest being the British Military Garrison in neighboring Prospect, Devonshire. In 1950, the course became the Ocean View Golf Course and in 1998, the government of Bermuda assumed control. Since then, Ocean View has operated as a Bermuda Government Quango.
From the beginning, Ocean View has welcomed players of all skill levels and backgrounds. Alongside its sister course, Port Royal—an 18-hole championship course in Southampton that opened in 1970—Bermuda Government Golf Courses have led the way in promoting diversity and inclusion in Bermuda’s golf community. We invite you to experience the vibrant culture and storied history that make our courses truly unforgettable.
